This is the first international conference on medical technology assessment at the hospital level in Vietnam, bringing together more than 200 experts and senior medical staff from Vietnam and the Russian Federation, Thailand, Singapore.

In the context of increasing medical costs, ensuring the treatment needs of patients is increasingly becoming a major challenge for medical facilities, especially in the period of financial autonomy. Therefore, using optimal medical intervention in treatment is considered a key factor to ensure treatment effectiveness and balance the medical budget.

Around the world, medical technology assessment is used at the macro level (in planning drug reimbursement policies, building a list of drugs for health insurance payments) to the micro level (in building a drug list). hospital and choose optimal interventions for patients). However, in Vietnam, medical technology assessment has not been widely applied at the hospital level but has only initially been applied at the macro level.

For the first time in Vietnam, the international conference on medical technology assessment at the hospital level was organized by Hong Bang International University with the key training field being the health sector, in coordination with Vietnam General Medical Association and HTARI Institute. The conference brought together more than 200 experts and medical staff from the Russian Federation, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam to exchange and share experiences to promote optimal use of medical technology in healthcare. treatment and improve treatment effectiveness of patients.

With the theme “Application of medical technology assessment at the hospital level: experiences in the world and the current situation in Vietnam”, the conference also had many presentations on “The value of assessment evidence”. medical technology in selecting treatment interventions” and “Methods & tools for assessing medical technology in hospitals.”

In particular, within the framework of the program there is also a pharmaceutical science seminar with the topic “Supply of drugs and medical supplies in Vietnam – Current situation and solutions” chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Van.
